Product Introduction
The Easson ES-14B Constant Speed Lathe Digital Readout System is a professional LCD DRO designed specifically for precision lathe machining applications.
Unlike traditional digital readouts that only display axis position, the ES-14B integrates spindle speed control, linear surface cutting speed monitoring, and encoder feedback, allowing the operator to maintain optimal machining conditions during turning operations.
The system supports constant surface speed (CSS) control, enabling the spindle speed to automatically adjust according to the workpiece diameter during machining. This ensures that the cutting speed remains constant, improving surface finish quality and tool life.
The ES-14B DRO outputs a 0–10V control signal to the spindle inverter, allowing direct regulation of spindle rotational speed for both automatic and manual control modes.
With its intelligent lathe-specific functions such as Z-axis summing, tool offset memory, and radius/diameter display switching, the ES-14B significantly improves machining efficiency and reduces operator errors.
Designed for industrial environments, the DRO system complies with international EMC standards, ensuring reliable operation in machine tool workshops.

The DRO provides two spindle control modes:
AUTO RPM Mode
The spindle speed is automatically controlled according to the preset linear surface cutting speed.
MANUAL RPM Mode
The spindle speed is controlled using the DRO’s speed adjustment knob.
This flexible control system allows operators to choose the most suitable operating mode depending on the machining task.
The ES-14B outputs a 0-10V analog control signal directly to the spindle inverter, enabling precise electronic control of spindle speed.
This allows seamless integration with modern lathe drive systems.
The DRO directly displays the linear cutting speed (m/min) during machining, enabling operators to monitor cutting conditions in real time.
For large lathes equipped with two longitudinal scales, the ES-14B supports axis summing, allowing the Z and Z1 axis readings to be combined and displayed as a single value.
This improves tool positioning accuracy.
